TITLE:  Behavior Instructional Assistant — Elementary, Middle and High School

                                                 

REPORTS TO:   School Administrator and/or designee

 

 

HIGHLY QUALIFIED REQUIRED

 

The definition of Highly Qualified is:
 
You must have:
  • Completed at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education obtaining at least 36 credits per year, or
  • Obtained an Associates (or higher) degree, or
  • Obtained a Paraprofessional Certificate 

 

PURPOSE

 

The Educational Assistant assists the teacher in the instruction of students whose educational needs are primarily the result of significant social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. The Assistant may be assigned to educational programs located in public school, residential treatment, or day treatment programs. 

  

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

 

Receives supervision from Administrator and may receive guidance and direction from Administrative Assistant and/or behavior specialist.  Exercises no supervision.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Sherwood School District 88J and Oregon School Employees Association Chapter #103.
